Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of GridIQ ("the Service"), operated by Avighna Digital Private Limited. By using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. The Service

GridIQ is a daily grid puzzle game that calculates an Elo-inspired GridIQ rating. The Service is provided free of charge with no in-app purchases or subscription fees. We may add, change, or remove features at any time.

The GridIQ score is a measure of pattern-recognition skill within our specific puzzle format. It is not a clinical IQ assessment and should not be used as a substitute for one.

2. Your account

You can use most of GridIQ as a guest with no account. Signing in is optional and currently uses Google Authentication via Firebase. By signing in, you authorize us to receive your email address and display name from Google.

You're responsible for keeping your Google account secure. We aren't liable for losses from unauthorized access caused by compromised credentials at the third-party identity provider.

You can sign out at any time from the in-app Settings. You can request account deletion by emailing anay@gridiq.quest.

3. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and not to:

• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract our puzzle generation logic
• Automate gameplay using bots or scripts to inflate your score
• Manipulate the leaderboard through fake accounts or coordinated activity
• Use the Service to harass, threaten, or harm other users
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our infrastructure or other users' accounts
• Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Service or its content

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, without notice.

4. User-generated content

You retain ownership of any display name you provide. By submitting a display name visible on the leaderboard, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to display it in connection with your gameplay statistics.

Don't choose display names that are offensive, impersonate others, or contain personal information you wouldn't want public. We may remove inappropriate names without notice.

5. Intellectual property

The GridIQ name, logo, puzzle mechanic, scoring algorithm, visual design, and all associated code and content are owned by Avighna Digital Private Limited and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

You may take screenshots of your own gameplay and share them on social media. You may not redistribute the Service itself or substantial portions of its content.

6. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers including Google (sign-in), Supabase (data storage), Firebase (authentication), Resend (email), PostHog (analytics), and Expo Push (notifications). Your use of the Service is also subject to those providers' terms when applicable. See our Privacy Policy for details.

7. Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the GridIQ scoring algorithm produces results suitable for any purpose beyond entertainment.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Avighna Digital Private Limited shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising out of your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed one hundred US dollars (USD $100) — reflecting the fact that the Service is provided free of charge.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms periodically. Material changes will be announced in-app or via email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms, or if we discontinue the Service entirely. We'll give reasonable notice for planned shutdowns.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka.
